Color

I really like colors. They help provoke a mood. They make you happy or depressed. So I came up with a few. Because I am messing around with Illustrator. I like my names for them. :)

I call this one DI

I call this one stages of drying mustard

I call this one your grandma's dress

I call this one Ralph Lauren's closet.

I call this one beach blanket

I call this one rouge

I call this one cotton candy

I call this one Egg Plant. Although it looks like an olive... we'll go with olive egg plant.

I call this one Logan Morning

I call this one Aveeno bottle

I call this one Pistachio pudding.

21st birthday in 21 pictures

Joke. Actually it's 38 pictures.

Here are a few random things I can do now that I'm 21. Not that I'll be doing them.
Drink alcohol.
Gamble.
Be a waitress at a place that serves alcohol
Apply for adoption
buy a handgun
get a special kind of pilot's license.

So, pretty much not really anything terribly exciting.

Betsy and Lauren threw a cake waffle party {tradition} for me on my birthday last sunday.

Betsy & Jake got all crafty and made this cute little sign!

count 21!

betsy walked to my apartment in the fresh foot of snow!!

i so did not want to lay on their laps...

Beth and Addie threw me a mock-tail party. Mormon cocktails! super super fantastic idea for a 21st birthday party since none of drink!
It was awesome!
virgin martini. I just ate the olive.... olive juice and water mixed is a little weird... But I'm glad beth made this for me! I've always wanted to put an olive in my drink!
First drink

second drink. a margarita of sorts.

second drink. mojito

third drink

I do not know what it's called. grapefruit and grenadine I believe.

4th drink. so good!

Jake loved it. Probably my favorite!

he loved it!

Lauren was instagramming the whole thing.

fifth drink. Pina colada

sixth drink. a shot of Sparkling cider and cotton candy.
too sweet.

they look cool though!

7th drink. cherry bomb/shirley temple

8th drink. citrus something.

9th drink. orange I think. Super good!

Thanks so much Addie and Beth for the funnest mock-tail party!!

You definitely don't need to be drunk to have fun.
Also, sugar high's are followed by sugar lows.
I think we're all going to have diabetes tomorrow!

Now, I need a random person to ask me how old I am so I actually can tell someone who doesn't know me how old I am! Then maybe I'll actually feel like I'm 21.

I've always felt like 21 was the perfect age.
I hope this year will be the best year yet!

A delicious recipe

I Have this goal to try and make 2 new kinds of cupcakes a month. Because I like making them. I'm trying homemade cake batter recipes too.

so here's the one I made last night-

Pink Lemonade Cupcakes.

You can either add 3-4 Tbls of pink lemonade drink powder and 1 tsp lemon zest to a normal white cake mix and follow directions on the box, or make it from scratch like I did.

1 1/2 c. self rising flour
1 1/4 c. all purpose flour
2 sticks of butter, room temp
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 c. milk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3-5 Tbls of dry pink lemonade powder
1 tsp lemon zest

Oven- 350 (I baked mine at 325 because my oven is of the evil sorts.)

Directions-

combine flours in a smallish bowl.

In a large bowl, mix the butter for a minute or two 'till smooth. Add the sugar and beat till it's fluffy {another minute or two} add the eggs. beat well again. Add in the flour alternating with the milk and vanilla. Don't over beat this time.  Add dry pink lemonade powder Scoop into the cupcake tin.

Bake 13-17 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

On for the frosting. {the best stuff!}

1 pound {or more. I used about 3/4 of a bag}
1 stick of butter
1/3 cup of shortening
4-8 Tbls of thawed pink lemonade concentrate.
1 tsp vanilla.

Directions-
mix butter and shortening together for like 3 minutes.
add in pink lemonade, vanilla, and concentrate a little at a time.
mix for a long time 'till really fluffy.

You'll have to try it.
