"Merry Christmas", not "Happy Holidays"

The past few weeks I've been thinking a lot about Christmas {obviously}. But I've been thinking a lot about how grateful I am to live in a place where people are still allowed to say "Christmas" without others having a politically correct heart attack.

As much as I love Christmas time because of the fun parties, and the fun traditions {ex mistletoe}, and the fun treats, presents, lights, snow, Christmas trees, etc, I love the spirit of the Christmas season. When you take Christ out of this time of year

I just wanted to say that I'm grateful for my savior, Jesus Christ, and the sacrifice he made for me and for everyone. I'm grateful for Christmas because it gives me a special chance to remember Him and to make a better effort to do as He would do.

I'm not the biggest fan of most Christmas music played on the radio, but I love the Christmas hymns! I love listening to them because they say the things I feel but don't know how to put into my own words. I'm also very grateful for Temple Square, especially during Christmas time. I got to go twice this year and it was fantastic. Even during a really cold snow storm there is no place I'd rather go.

"At this time of Christmas, this season when gifts are given, let us not forget that God gave His Son, and His Son gave His life, that each of us might have the gift of eternal life." -Gordon B. Hinckley

So mostly I just wanted to say, Merry Christmas!
